ints on use of orthodontic screws
No matter how careful the manufacturing of the screws, a minimal gap between space-holder and
screw body can always occur. In order to prevent resin from penetrating in this gap and blocking the
screw thread as a result, we recommend to proceed as follows:
• Before inserting the screw make sure to tighten the marginal gap (if any) with liquid wax. We recommend
using paraffin-free wax.
• Apply a small amount of food-safe and resin-free oil to the screw spindle before polymerisation, in order to
guarantee free mobility of the screw.
• Once the resin has cured in the pressure pot, remove the space holder, separate the plate and soak it
shortly (for less than a minute) in no longer boiling water.
• Make sure to insert the key completely into the activation hole, exerting continuous pressure from both
sides in order to open the screw for the first time.
• In order to ensure optimal function, clean the screw thoroughly using steam jet after several turns.

Note:
For the pressure moulding method it is mandatory to use a thermoforming machine with positive pressure in
order to guarantee complete polymerization of the used resin (BIOCRYL® RESIN).
